Paavo Pylkkänen
Paavo Pylkkänen took his MSc in Logic and Scientific Method in Sussex (1985) and PhD in Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Helsinki (1992) and was an Academy of Finland researcher in Cognitive Science at the Department of Philosophy, University of Helsinki between 1990 and 1995. He was also an Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Physics, Birkbeck College, University of London in 1994 and 1996. He is now Associate Professor in Theoretical Philosophy at the Department of Humanities, University of Skövde, Sweden. He has there intitiated a Consciousness Studies programme which combines philosophy and cognitive neuroscience, and directs the Philosophy of Cognitive Science research group. His interests include naturalistic accounts of conscious experience, in particular those making use of contemporary physics. He is the editor of the Bohm-Biederman correpondence (London, Routledge 1999).
